I've been quiet on this site as I was moving house, but i learned some important things because of the move or rather i remembered some important things which is just as important.
CHECKLISTS ARE YOUR FRIEND
A minute of planning saves 4 minutes of execution. checklists are an essential tool to get you started, help you plan the order of things and keep you on track,
SENSE OF URGENCY
As the moving day loomed closer i sarted to see deadlines which triggered actions. Beleive it or not I started to feel more energy to get things going the more I got done. I started to impose real be self imposed deadlines.
EASIER TO KEEP GOING THAN IT IS TO GET GOING
Never has this phrase been more true. when in motion it was easier to stay in motion which I had to remind myself of every time i didn't feel like getting started
THINGS RARELY TAKE AS LONG TO DO AS YOU THINK
Modern humans are bad at guessing how long things may take or more accurately we measure the difficulty of a task on our reluctance to do it. How often do you say, 'that really didnt take that long!'
Remeber sometimes the opposite is true, we also underestimate how long a task will take because we havent considered everything involved
IT ALL GETS DONE IN THE END
it can feel very overwhelming at times but it ll got done in the end and that concern can be demotivating.
remember the saying, it all gets done in the end!
