I love the idea of the Manager on deck program mentioned on the WWA seminar,

25 Ways to Increase Your Park's Safety George Deines, City of Garland Melissa Lockwood, City of Keller

Even though I'd worked facilities where there was always one person on deck to respond to emergencies (sometimes 2,3 or 4 covering sections during busier days), I never had a written program in place.

As I have been Implementing a program for the lead and supervisory staff, the obstacle came up that there were too many interruptions during their on deck time to complete all the set tasks.

It has been a hard time to convince them to persevere, because,

"the more planned work we do the less UNplanned work we have to do."

by me i think

They are starting to see that now...............In addition the number of 'all at the same time' craziness type of incidents will decrease, you know the loony half hour where guests complain, kids get lost, injuries occur, stuff gets stolen etc etc all at the same time.
