BUSY IS NOT THE EXCUSE BUT THE REASON TO FOLLOW PROCEDURES

Spring Break is coming up.
The calendar tells me every year that it's coming but there's always an adjustment.
The Waterpark and staff go from slow and steady to full speed, seemingly and literally overnight.
What you find is that the weaknesses that you thought had been fixed and not seen for months are exposed.
Here's a few examples,
Children too small to ride the waterslides slip through causing irate parents.
Strainer baskets not being cleaned.
Cash banks not balancing and being short.
Voids and refunds needing to be made.
Flow rates getting low.
Chlorine barrels getting empty.
Decks getting dirty.
Pumps failing.
Getting so many group and birthday inquiries you can't get back to them all in time.
Being short staffed and not having enough time to call back applicants let alone interview.
I was having a conversation about this with our Front Desk Manager, Lionel, who was noticing the same thing. He mentioned that the answer he got when things were missed and mistakes were made was, 'It got too busy'. He gave me some examples that if the extra few seconds were taken and the normal procedures followed, most if not all the mistakes would have been averted.
Here's a giant banner waiting to be posted in the break room.
