How hard are you working FOR your employees?

READ THE TITLE AGAIN- ITS HOW HARD ARE YOU! WORKING FOR YOUR EMPLOYEES
A manager leaving the company wrote an email thanking his employees for their work and mentioned, 'I hope that I have worked as hard for you'. The more I thought, the more I liked the concept of a leader working hard for their employees. So here is my self questionnaire,
am I working hard to recognize my best performers?
am I working hard to train them daily, weekly or monthly?
am I working hard to set a high enough standard for their work?
am I working hard to use everyone's efforts to get progress and results?
am I working hard enough to keep everyone productive?
and the list goes on.................but the core idea is that you have to be focused on getting the best out of your employees AND work hard to meet their needs of feeling that they are providing worthwhile work.
